As I was reading it, I thought it was going to be something like Flapjack where he lives in the whale, but it was totally different.

is the story complete? what if it was all a dream, and he was really just wet in his bed maybe some of the sailors pulled a first timers prank on him and drenched him in water. that would be a twist. but i do like the cunning wit feeling that the whale has to his character. it makes me think of what the whales would do in whale wars. I really loved it though, talking whales rule!!!!

i enjoyed it, very visual and descriptive. It seemed to have a dark over tone even with the jolly whale taking him to see the depths of the sea, the whale smiling makes you think he has some way for the boy to breathe at the last minute, then he drowns.

Seeing as Stoney isn't an actual dwarf I never took that into consideration. But yes, you and me both, brother.
